Fishability School Aged Children's Program

In 2018 Fishability launched the Fishability School Aged Children's Program supported by Act, Belong, Commit AND Recreational Fishing Initiative Fund, catering specifically for children in Education Support Centres, mainstream classes, school camps etc.  With a qualified team of volunteers delivering jetty activities, the program is tailored to ensure students learn new skills, gain self-confidence, socially interact and create awareness of the environment.

All volunteers hold current Working with Children Cards and Police Clearances.  Personal Flotation Devices are available for students. All fishing equipment and bait is supplied by Fishability.

We recommend the children are a minimum height of 1.2 metres high to participate, however Fishability will have Personal Flotation Devices available to wear.

We urge children are dressed in accordance to the weather conditions and with enclosed shoes.  All of our activities are SunSmart and we encourage all participants, support workers and volunteers to adhere to our SunSmart policy and wear suitable clothing for the conditions.

Thanks to our sponsors, all fishing activities are at NO cost to participants.
