The Roebourne and Surrounds Program launched on 21 April 2026. This program marks a major step forward in making fishing more inclusive across Western Australia, connecting people of all abilities with the water, their community and each other.
The Roebourne and Surrounds Fishability program provides free, accessible fishing experiences for participants, their carers and families, creating opportunities for social connection, wellbeing and cultural exchange.
Importantly, the program will also create space for Aboriginal elders and families to share customary fishing knowledge on country, strengthening cultural ties and community connections.
